The Saloon and General Store next door offer a rich history on Mining and have a heritage that ties in with Old Hollywood. The bar in the Saloon was constructed in the 1860's, though it wasn't added until the saloons construction in 1913. The Saloon's atmosphere and rich history have been featured in countless movies and television shows and much of the decor that graced the big screen remain in the saloon to this day. Living in the days of the Wild, Wild West was not easy. Little protection from the elements and harsh desert environment meant many lives were lost.
